Top seed Purav Rambhia will meet Shravin Jain for the boys’ U-19 crown

Chennai, August 21st, 2026: Top seed Purav Rambhia and Shravin Jain will battle for the Boys’ U-19 title, while top seed Akanksha Gupta will take on second seed Eesha Shrivastava in an all-Indian Girls’ U-19 final at the Southern Slam squash tournament at the Indian Squash Academy in Chennai.

Purav Rambhia continued his impressive run with a 13-11, 11-2, 11-9 win over Raghav Vashishtha, while Shravin Jain overcame Yuvaditya Jain 11-8, 10-12, 11-7, 11-8 to set up the final.

In the Girls’ U-19 category, top seed Akanksha Gupta was in commanding form, defeating Devashree Arora 11-3, 11-9, 11-3. Second seed Eesha Shrivastava booked her place in the final with an 11-7, 11-6, 11-7 win over Vyomika Khandelwal.

In the Boys’ U-15 semifinals, Dhruv Johri produced one of the day’s standout performances, defeating Singaporean top seed Jackrish Sashikumar 14-12, 8-11, 11-6, 11-5. He will face second seed Fareed Andrabi, who edged Ruan Ram Tadanki 12-14, 11-9, 5-11, 11-5, 11-9.

Top seed Shreyansh Jha and second seed Lokesh Subramani advanced to the Boys’ U-17 final, while Kaelen Evan Low (Singapore) and second seed Ridaan Gupta will contest the Boys’ U-13 final. In Boys’ U-11, top seed Yuchen Mason Han (Singapore) will face Vedant Shinde.

In the girls’ categories, Aarika Mishra and Yushan Jacintha Han (Singapore) advanced to the Girls’ U-17 final, while Diva Parasrampuria and second seed Goushika M progressed to the Girls’ U-15 title clash. Keerti Bala (Malaysia) and second seed Riyaa Dalal reached the Girls’ U-13 final, while top seed Meera Ruthiran (Malaysia) and second seed Gaurvi Ajmera will battle for the Girls’ U-11 crown.

The Southern Slam 2026 features 12 events and 397 entries, with competition running from August 17 to 22 at the Indian Squash Academy in Chennai. Organised by the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI), the tournament brings together emerging junior talent and established senior players, with PSA ranking points available in the senior events and Asian Junior Ranking points across the junior categories.
