  • Chrysalis SME League marks CEF’s third World Record attempt, bringing together 726 employees from 66 SME teams

The Chrysalis Entrepreneur Forum (CEF) formally inaugurated the Chrysalis SME League at Bavdhan, Pune, marking the commencement of the World’s Largest Box Cricket Tournament.

The League brings together 66 teams, each comprising 11 players, with a total participation of 726 employees. What makes this initiative distinctive is that every team is made up entirely of employees from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), representing 30+ industries across Pune, Mumbai, and neighbouring regions.

At its core, the tournament celebrates the people who form the true backbone of India’s economy, the SME workforce.

Founded in 2012, the Chrysalis Entrepreneur Forum has grown from a close-knit group of 15 entrepreneurs into a thriving community of over 1,500 entrepreneurs spanning diverse sectors. The Forum is chaired by Mr Manish Gupta, whose vision has consistently transformed ideas into large-scale movements that bring entrepreneurs and their teams together.

Under Mr Gupta’s leadership, CEF is embarking on its third World Record attempt. The Forum’s earlier milestones include a Limca Book of Records achievement in Skydiving (2014) and a Guinness World Record in Scuba Diving.

The Chrysalis SME League marks CEF’s first land-based world record attempt, using box cricket as a unifying platform to drive collective participation, connection, and impact.

Addressing the gathering, Mr Manish Gupta, Chairman, Chrysalis Entrepreneur Forum, said: “The world has enough history readers. What it needs is more history writers. This attempt is about creating history and adding one more world record to the name of Bharat, our country.

It is also an opportunity for entrepreneurs to strengthen team bonding and foster a deeper sense of belonging within their organisations. For employees, it is a moment to recognise and feel grateful that their entrepreneurs and business leaders are investing in them, not just through resources, but through time, trust, and shared experiences.”

The core objective of this World Record attempt is to celebrate employees and strengthen organisational culture, using sport as a powerful medium to build energy, camaraderie, and team spirit beyond the workplace.

Reaffirming its belief that entrepreneurship is a key driver of societal progress, CEF reiterated its motto: “It’s Great to Be an Entrepreneur.”

The successful completion of this record attempt is expected to be a moment of pride for all participants, many of whom will earn the rare distinction of being part of a world record, made possible through Mr Gupta’s vision and the collective commitment of entrepreneurs investing in their people.
